I was attached to my glasses and contact lenses for nearly 15 years, and was unable to even think of going somewhere or doing something without them. Dr. Furlong performed my LASIK with the utmost of care and with fantastic results. After seeing 20/400 for years, Dr. Furlong corrected my eyes so that I now see 20/15. Even a year and a half after surgery, not a day goes by that I don't think how happy I am that I had LASIK. I no longer have to squint to see road signs, worry about contacts popping out unexpectedly, or carry my glasses with me whenever I go on a trip. I just got my Scuba certification, and it was doubly exciting to know that I will never have to fear a lens washing out underwater. I can't say enough good things about LASIK, or about Dr. Furlong. He is personable, approachable, and cares about his patients. He worked with me to give me an incredible outcome, and freed me from a life of dependency on contacts and glasses. "LASIK surgery is a piece of cake. It has made such a difference in my day-to-day activities. Life is good". My vision was 20/20 just a few hours after surgery. I was bugging my friend and telling her you have to get rid of your glasses now. She did not want to tell me that she went to another doctor and he was considerably cheaper. The price to have her eyes corrected was very, very low. In fact, it was unheard of. And it was unheard of because it was not really true. She went in to have her eye appointment and to sign on the dotted line, when she finds out it was going to be $800 more than she was told on the telephone. Two months ago, I received CustomLASIK with Intralase,and I can honestly say I have never been happier in my life!
I began wearing glasses in the third grade. I'm writing to thank you for the wonderful experience I had at TLC, and more importantly, the excellent results of my Custom Lasik Surgery.
I started wearing reading glasses about 6 years ago and I'd noticed in the past couple of years that I was having to wear my glasses more and more - to do my laundry, open my mail, use my remote control. In other words, I was a year or two away from having to wear glasses all the time. Luckily for me, I found TLC. The first thing I did after my surgery? Throw away my glasses.
I was very impressed with the personal care I received at TLC and was surprised and pleased that the procedure and recovery were so quick and painless.
I can't tell you how great it is to be able to pick up a magazine, newspaper or menu and start reading without a second thought. My only regret is that I didn't do this earlier!

It's like a child seeing Disney World for the first time. What I saw the first day after surgery was awesome! I saw the street signs clearly for the first time since childhood. I strongly recommend TLC; they gave me a new lease on life. I can play softball with my three kids without having my glasses fogging up, and I rolled my first 300 game bowling!

After wearing glasses and contacts for more than 2 decades, I was very excited about the idea of a quick "zap" that would mean clear vision for the rest of my life. My job as a T.V. Reporter means some early mornings, and some situations where contact lenses just don't work, like at smokey fires, or hurricanes. Having a stash of re-wetting solution nearby was not feasible. I am now, about 1-year "post op" and I love waking up with clear vision. I can swim, take a shower, and run to the set with a late-breaking story, without worrying if my eyes are going to cause me trouble. When I see people struggling with their contacts, or wiping smudges from their glasses. I cannot help but tell them the LASIK story. I feel I owe it to them to share my experiences.
